Toilet Partitions: Privacy When You Need It

If you have a business or are in the process of starting one, you will need to consider everything from office supplies to telephone system to toilet partitions. Obviously, you want to create a space for your employees where they will have privacy. Unless you plan to designate private rooms, you would have toilet partitions installed, which is a more efficient and affordable solution.

Years ago, toilet partitions were functional but boring. Regardless of the business, you would see gray partitions, giving the room a drab appearance. Although you do not have to hire an interior designer for the bathroom, you do want to make this a private and comfortable part of the business. In addition, toilet partitions need to be installed properly for the utmost privacy, while providing you with an easy to maintain and clean surface.

Toilet partitions on the market today are so different from 10 to 20 years ago. What you find now are wonderful colors and even textures that hide fingerprints. Then, the list of styles is diverse so you can create the look you want for your business. Keep in mind that you might have restrooms used by potential customers, vendors, financial backers, and other important people – not just the employees. Therefore, the room needs to carry on the professional look you would see throughout the rest of the office.

For the women’s room, you would want to go with full toilet partitions for absolute privacy. However, the men’s room would do well with partition walls between the urinals. This way, there is still privacy but geared more toward a man. Toilet partitions are available in various configurations such as ceiling hung, floor mounted, or overhead braced. Then for material, there is polymer, baked enamel, solid plastic, laminate, and stainless steel, which is generally your more expensive option although also the choice that provides the most sophistication.

Generally, bathroom stalls are up to 36 inches wide and 60 inches deep. Then, the doors come in three primary sizes to include 24, 26, and 28 inch. However, if you want the stalls to be wider, especially for the handicap stall, doors go from 32 to 42 inches. In addition to choosing the actually types of toilet partitions to have installed, there is also the decision for hardware. If you were unsure, you can check with the manufacturer for recommendations.

The nice thing for the hardware is that you can purchase replacement parts for low prices and find what you need at most plumbing shops, hardware stores, or home improvement stores. That way, if a lock were to break on any of the toilet partitions, you would not need to call in a professional but do the work yourself. Keep in mind that the hardware chosen or the toilet partitions will also add to the overall functionality and appearance so this too is an important decision.
