Bath toys have become the latest in children’s educational toys. No longer are kids entertaining themselves with old Tupperware containers and plastic blocks that happen to be waterproof. Instead, a number of companies are introducing bath toys that focus on learning, including:
Floating Chemistry Set
These bath toys consist of a floating chemistry set for children age three and up. They come complete with a number of test tubes that sit in a floating table. These bath toys teach young children age four and up, all about music. They include five flutes that when filled with water at different levels, play different sounds. These bath toys are one of the few that has been designed for newborns and infants. Designed like a traditional crib mobile, it clips onto an infant tub. The mirror at the top allows babies to focus on their reflection, or they can look at the brightly colored arms. And, as your child gets older, the bath mobile can be modified for use in a bathtub, or the toys at the end of the arms can be removed for fun in the bath itself ($24.95). Bath Time Toy Set
These bath toys come with 56 large foam pieces shaped like letters, numbers and fish puzzles. Each foam piece floats and sticks to the side or wall of a bathtub when damp, so kids can practice their spelling, math or problem solving skills. This toy is for children ages three and above ($12.95). Farm Squirters
Move over Rubber Ducky – these barnyard shaped bath toys are the next generation of floating bathtub friends. The set includes a horse, chicken, cow, pig and sheep that shoot out water and are perfect for children six months and older ($6.95). Car Wash
These bath toys are perfect for youngsters who love to push their toys cars around the house. The floating car wash has a working hose and squishy sponge spinners that children can push the cars through, in addition to a small track that they can drive them on. These bath toys are designed for children nine months and older ($17.95). Hippo Tubbly Bubbly
These bath toys are designed to keep inquisitive toddlers, who love to stand but haven’t quite yet found their footing in the bath, safe. The soft hippo covers the water spout so that if a child falls, they won’t hurt their head on the metal faucet. And, even better, it still allows water to fill the bathtub, so there is no need to take it on and off before and after your little one’s bath ($11.95).
