Bathroom Wall Decor Types

When talking about bathroom wall décor, you are looking at anything from decorative mirrors to pictures to murals, and much more. Today, people are focusing more and more on the bathroom, putting much more effort into making it a distinguished room within the home. For years, the bathroom was overlooked, more of an annoyance than a room of which to be proud. However, with new fixtures, hardware, wonderful paint colors, and all types of bathroom wall décor this room makes a statement in its own right.

One of the great things about bathroom wall décor is that whether you want to enhance wall color or go completely over the top to coordinate a theme, you will find you have tons of options. For instance, if you wanted to do a beach house with a nautical theme for the bathroom, some great possibilities for wall décor would include an over-sized copper sailboat, framed pictures of fish such as the marlin or sailfish, or perhaps lighthouses made from plank wood.

Now, if your bathroom were sophisticated and elegant, the options for wall décor are just as incredible. For instance, if you went with a black and white room, then the bathroom wall décor could have pops of color. A contemporary painting with splashes of red, orange, and yellow would look stunning or you might consider a beveled or “endless” mirror, which provides reflection in reflection in reflection…

You could even make your own bathroom wall décor. A gorgeous way to create framed pictures that will hold up well in the humidity while providing whatever color or shape you want is by using tissue paper. For this, you would take a piece of thick plastic to use as the backdrop, which could be white or colored. Then, cut out shapes or designs using various colors or patterned tissue paper. With regular all-purpose glue, attach the pieces.

If you wanted something contemporary, you could create a kaleidoscope type design of three or four colors. This plastic and design is then framed in a black or white frame. The result is an expensive piece of artwork that cost pennies. The bottom line is that you could purchase or make anything you want. With today’s stylistic options, any bathroom wall décor would be acceptable.
