Bathroom Storage Options

Not having adequate bathroom storage is a common problem for many homeowners, especially in older homes where rooms are typically small. If you find that you do not have enough bathroom storage, you are probably ready for some good information to help. For starters, you might consider over the toilet storage. Wall cabinets are a great solution. In addition to providing more bathroom storage, they also come in a variety of styles so you can enhance the appearance of the room too.

Another great option to help with the bathroom storage dilemma is adding stackable baskets to your countertops. In this case, you can store shampoo, conditioner, hand towels, washcloths, makeup, and other items needed on a daily basis while still keeping them somewhat out of site. You will find beautiful baskets at just about any hobby or retail store for $10 and less.

When thinking about bathroom storage, always think up. In other words, remember that you have a lot of space that goes up toward the ceiling. By getting creative, you can utilize this space and enjoy more bathroom storage. For instance, a slim built tower is a great way to store items while not taking up much floor space. Towers are designed to be tall and thin but they are also functional.

You can also create more bathroom storage space by adding shelving. In this case, if you have a wall where you could place a shelf, remember again that you could possible add two or three shelves, going up and using wasted space.  Then, you could either store items directly on the shelving units or use baskets to help hide your personal belongings. The bottom line is that when it comes to using bathroom storage, remember you have options when working up.

Another consideration for bathroom storage is to go through your supplies and make sure you are not hanging onto old stuff. If you have shampoo of the same brand but several opened bottles, consolidate them into one larger bottle. Coming up with more bathroom storage would also be a great time to go through makeup, hair accessories, nail products, shower gels, and so on, deciding what you really need and do not need. If you have bottles of unopened products, you might consider giving them to a family member or friend, or perhaps a synergy house or homeless shelter.

Finally, if you have trouble with a lack of bathroom storage, you might look at your fixtures. For instance, perhaps the toilet, vanity, and tub are simply too large for the space. By switching out to a pedestal sink instead of a double vanity you free up space.  Then, you could easily add an antique chest or hutch to create more organized bathroom storage.
