Homemade Bubble Bath

Have you ever had “one of those days”, perhaps an exhausting day at work, a difficult day of testing in school, or a day filled with chasing little kids around the house – an excellent way to escape, even if temporarily, is with a nice, hot bubble bath.  Although you will find many excellent products on the market, you have another option, which is to make your own product.  The great thing about homemade bubble bath is that not only can you be as creative as you want, but you also save money while always having it on hand.

More and more people are making aromatherapy type products at home.  For instance, the number of people making candles and soap is on the rise.  Along with this, we also see homemade bubble bath becoming commonplace.  Best of all, making your own bubble bath is a fun, easy project.  Just imagine indulging yourself with a sweet-smelling bath product that you made.  In fact, if you have children, they too can get involved with the fun.  However, keep in mind that small children, especially little girls should not use bubbles in the bath in that it causes problems with yeast infections.

If you decide you want to try your hand at making homemade bubble bath, you will discover the ingredients are all easily attainable at health food or most grocery stores.  In addition, the ingredients needed to make your own product are inexpensive.  In fact, if you were to compare the cost of buying bubble bath versus to making your own, you would be shocked at the markup through commercial products.  Why pay more when you can make a product just as good, if not better for 50% less!

Another huge benefit of making homemade bubble bath is that you know every ingredient being used and you control the amount of ingredient.  That means unwanted chemicals often seen in commercial products can be eliminated.  Many people have sensitive skin, which is why they avoid using store bought bubble bath.  However, by making your own product, you can use gentle products that will not cause an adverse reaction.  By choosing only fresh ingredients, you can smell great, enjoy soothing skin, and never worry about problems with itching or rash.  This also means doing something really, great for the environment!

Making homemade bubble bath always requires one specific ingredient – essential oil.  Although only a few drops are required, the oils are what provide wonderful fragrance and silky smooth skin.  Now, while most essential oils are safe, some research is required when making your own product.  As an example, if you were pregnant, then you never want to use marjoram essential oil.  To determine which oils you should and should not use in various situations, you can use the internet or your favorite bookstore to look up oils and holistic aromatherapy.

Typically, homemade bubble bath consists of few ingredients.  However, by using the right ingredients and those that are natural, the bathtub experience will take you to new heights.  Some of the most popular essential oils include frankincense, lavender, sandalwood, chamomile, and rosewood, perfect for creating a sense of tranquility and peace.  On the other hand, if you need a boost of energy, you can use different essential oils to include eucalyptus, lemon, and peppermint.  Finally, homemade bubble bath can also be used for creating soft skin simply by using essential oils such as almond and coconut!
