Homemade Bath Salts: Fun and Inexpensive

One of the wonderful things about homemade bath salts is that you get all the benefits of soft skin but without harsh ingredients. Typically, bath salts can be made using regular ingredients purchased from your grocery store to include things such as table sale, baking soda, and Epsom salt. Then, to make the homemade bath salts smell good, you can add essential oils such as lavender, eucalyptus, rose, and so on.

The process of making homemade bath salts is easy. All you have to do is get a large bowl and mixing spoon. Then, pour three cups of Epsom salt, two cups of the baking soda, and one cup of table salt into the bowl.  Mix well and then slowly add food coloring of your choice.  Once this is mixed well, you can then add in the essential oil of your choice. For instance, if you use lavender essential oils, you could use purple food coloring or for rose oil, use red coloring.

Just remember that your homemade bath salts should have enough essential oils so they smell strong. The reason is that when the salts dissolve in the water, the fragrance will not be as strong. Once you have mixed up a batch of the homemade bath salts, you can store them in an airtight jar. In fact, if you want to seal the jar with a beautiful piece of fabric and then a lid, you could tie a pretty bow around the rib and give them as a housewarming or birthday gift to someone special.

You could visit just about any bath and body shop and easily pay between $10 and $20 for bath salts. For this reason, making homemade bath salts makes a lot more sense. The bottom line is that soaking in a hot tub with homemade bath salts is luxurious and the results wonderful. After a difficult day at work, school, or home with the children, this is the ideal way to escape the stresses of life and do something nice for yourself. When you run out, you can simply make more homemade bath salts in no time and because they are so easy and inexpensive to make, have a variety of choices from which to choose.
