Dead sea bath salt is a natural treatment that is now providing psoriasis sufferer’s relief. To prove the exact benefits, clinical research was conducted in Israel along with other countries. One such study on dead sea bath salt was done on the effects for rheumatic patients that live daily with osteoarthritis. In all, 103 patients were treated for two weeks with dead sea bath salt. These individuals were separated into three groups – a treatment of 7.5% dead sea salt, a 2% salt concentration treatment, and a 0.5% salt concentration. After being treated for one week with dead sea bath salt, the improvements in the two categories of 7.5% and 2% were significant. However, those individuals treated with the 0.5% concentration of salt had little or no improvement. In addition, individuals treated with dead sea bath salt who had greater physical limitation also improved the most. Additionally, 66 patients were treated with dead sea bath salt for a two-week period. For this, an additional improvement in the top two categories was noticed whereas those with the lower salt concentration treatment had only slight improvement. Then, another huge benefit by treating patients with dead sea bath salt was that 80% of patients had less pain, 70% had improved mobility, and 60% were able to reduce the amount of analgesics taken. The conclusion of this particular study on dead sea bath salt was that when treated at home and for extended periods, people had an economical, safe, and readably available solution that worked. Another study on dead sea bath salt was conducted in Germany with 60 patients. Of these patients, traditional medical treatment had not helped with the discomfort. In this case, the patients were taken off traditional medication in place of the dead sea bath salt treatment. All of the 60 patients were treated for one month with three treatments per week. In this case, the dead sea bath salt treatment used a concentration of 2.5% and baths lasted 20 minutes with warm water temperatures. The results of this particular study showed that more than 75% of people had overall improvement, more than 10% reported moderate improvement, and close to 14% had no success at all. While the two studies differ slightly, they do agree that a dead sea bath salt treatment provides both relief and pampering for many people. |
