Buying Soft, Fluffy Bath Towels

Stepping out of the bathtub or shower and wrapping yourself in a warm towel is a wonderful luxury, which is why soft and fluffy bath towels are so great. Bath towels are designed specifically to dry a person’s body off, therefore needing to be large enough and soft. Typically, a bath towel is rectangular, measuring about 30 x 60 inches. However, you can also purchase a type of bath towel called a Bath Sheet, which is much larger, wrapping the body completely!

In addition to keeping you warm and comfortable, bath towels can also be used as accent pieces. For example, many people will have one set of bath towels specifically for using and then another set just for display. You will even find families that have towels set aside for special company or seasons. With this, you might pull out the best of the best when mom and dad come to visit or hang Christmas towels during this holiday season.

While it might sound like bath towels are all created equal, they are similar to bed sheets, ranked by grade of good to excellent. These grades are based on the quality of cotton used with the more expensive bath towels being thick and soft. These higher quality bath towels are made from a certain type of cotton such as Brazilian or Egyptian. However, while the type of cotton is one consideration, there are others when it comes time to buy new towels.

For instance, when buying new bath towels, think about the color, the pattern, the style, choosing what will enhance your overall bathroom design. The interesting thing is that changing out bath towels is an inexpensive and easy way to bring in warmth or elegance to the bathroom without having to go all out. Okay, so when shopping, what should you look for when buying towels? First, touch the towels to see how they feel. If the towels will be used on a daily basis, you want them to be soft, thick, and absorbent.

On the other hand, if the bath towels will be used only for display, then you might go with a thinner type towel but with a beautiful embroidery accent or border. If you were unsure how to determine good from excellent quality, you can look at the materials used but also, if the towel has a soft, velvety texture with a little bit of weight, then you know the quality is superior. Finally, you can tell the quality of bath towels by looking at the fabric, checking if the fibers stand up, and not woven into tiny loops, making this a far more luxurious choice.
