A Bathroom Heater Makes A Cold Room Comfortable

If you live in a cold climate and your bathroom has a significant amount of tile than you probably need a bathroom heater. If the heat that reaches your bathroom is insignificant to warm the space, than consider how a bathroom heater will make bathing more comfortable, especially during the winter!

A bathroom heater comes in a number of different styles and options. If your home heater is fairly adequate, and you just want to punch up the warmth a bit, consider a heated towel rack. Heated towel racks come in a number of styles and product designs – everything from electric and hydronic, to portable, wall and floor mounted and freestanding. Heated towel racks are designed to warm up your towels so that they are a comfortable temperature when you reach for one after a shower or bath. They are not however designed for making items hot.

Another option is a fan heater. These are electric fans that work the opposite of an air conditioner. When plugged in and turned on, they blow hot air into a space, warming small rooms quickly. When using an electric fan in a bathroom, it is often recommended that they be plugged in and mounted on a wall, to ensure that no water drips on them and causes an accidental electrocution. There are however a number of these electric fan bathroom heaters that are designed to be used in moist locations, such as a bathroom. Like towel rack heaters, a bathroom heater comes in a number of sizes and styles. And, in some cases, even up to six designer colors to match the décor of your bathroom, as well as have thermostats to set an exact temperature. Installing one of these bathroom heaters is often the most inexpensive solution, as running new ductwork and / or upgrading to a larger furnace can be costly.

However, before you purchase any bathroom heater consider having the ducts in your home cleaned, if it is has been several years since it was last done. Over time, dust, fur from pets and other bits of dirt and grime can clog the system. A good cleaning may increase the flow of warm air in a more remote room, such as a bathroom. And, another option to consider is closing off the vents in any rooms that aren’t used frequently. This will increase the volume of warm air that reaches all the other rooms of your home. Of course, if radiators heat your home, this of recommendation will not be an option.

Once you have decided to purchase a bathroom heater for your home, head to your nearest home improvement superstore or hardware store, as they should have a large selection. For more ornate and unique things like a bathroom heater that heat towels, consider searching online to find a list of specialized providers.
